A quick internet search reveals everything about this fantastic, nearly worthless metal. It has many aliases from gunmetal to nickelsilver to alpacca to anything that doesn't have any silver in it. No silver in it at all, to repeat, 0% silver. I'd provide links but those believing otherwise will think it's a conspiracy even though every page in an internet search says it is silver-free.

Like worthless silverplated junk with an abundance of hallmarks on the bottom, German Silver is designed to fool ignorant, clueless, shit-for-brains people that don't have the common sense of an average kindergartner to research it. Obviously they think that because it contains the word silver or has a lot of hallmarks it must be silver.

German Silver is an open-and-shut case but by no means is this situation, or people's mentality in such scenarios, unique. OK, so they are idiots for not researching it initially, no arguing that fact. But wouldn't a functionally intelligent person look into it further when they are informed that German Silver is worthless junk metal instead of spouting off like an ignoramus? I mean, maybe someone knows more than you as difficult as it is for your "advanced intellect" to believe!

The silver standard in Germany has been 0.800, 0.925, and a host of other purities between those two. Items composed of these legitimate silver alloys have additional hallmarks identifying them as such (usually a crescent moon and a crown, sometimes with a maker's mark). Real silver items from any country never, ever, never, ever have "German Silver" stamped on them!

Try telling this etsy seller that their purse does not contain any silver and is clearly marked that way! I tried yet they were adamant: more lies on top of lies on top of lies. Proclaiming that she is 100% correct about everything in her listing and subsequent emails - she claimed she researched it thoroughly even after my emails - she nevertheless contradicted herself countless times. But that is neither here nor there, because she believes she is right no matter what.

(Be careful if you email her because etsy protects their sellers especially when said sellers feel offended when they are called out for defrauding their customers and the proof is incontrovertible. You, as the whistleblower, will be punished!)

For your own amusement, do a search on "German Silver" on your favorite or least-liked selling platform. For amusement, try emailing the liars and watch the fireworks. Some will realize their """honest""" """"mistake"""" and change. The real gems will argue incessantly and violently no matter the evidence.

People don't like to be wrong and don't like when others point it out. Instead of eating a slice of humble pie, to preserve their own opinion of themselves as an honest, responsible person with integrity and a hint of common sense they will defend their position regardless. Defend what - their complete ignorance and arrogance, the two gateway drugs to ultimate stupidity???

Some people shouldn't be allowed to interact with the masses or sell anything. Can't they be confined to a secluded island devoid of outside contact among equally nonsensical, cognitively deprived individuals? The echo chamber they'd create would reverberate around the world. Maybe send them to outer space instead where sound doesn't travel...without spacesuits?

If facts were easy to digest we'd solve nearly all the world's problems. If egos weren't so fragile and unstable we'd have virtually no wars or conflict. If people shut their piehole when they don't have a clue what they're talking about, don't have anything important to say, or are caught in bold-faced lies there'd be no social media. But that's not the case nor will it ever be as long fake news, ignoring facts, and low self esteem are a vogue badge of honor.
