Everyone should have a list of 200.
That's the purpose of choosing that many - more than enough to make a point.
If too few, how many would it take before your (non-selfish) directives gain traction?
I would hope that everyone's list would change the world for the better.
Which people would you replace with yourself and/or what agenda would you push upon them?
The gothic, dystopian version would be to "handle" them
if they don't toe the line. It would send a powerful message if people got whacked
like that. The successor would avoid said mistakes...wouldn't they?
Perhaps the concessions and admissions
they make publicly may be the most powerful message. Can't get that from a martyr.
Even Ghandi would approve (probably not the whacking but the concept). He took to
stick so don't confuse pacifism with
helplessness. Sometimes violence is a necessary catalyst.
Look at the other possibility. Which 200 would go on the good
list, and what things would they promote?
How many are social media influencers dare I ask?
Maybe you're more concerned about doing what's right
and would include people who make a difference.
How many would be on one person's good list
and another person's evil list? With how polarized the world is becoming,
Trump, Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Xi Jinping
would be popular nominees all around.
Then again, the outcome of some lists would be indistinguishable
from absolute chaos and destruction. Would either of your lists
result in a better place for everyone or would you
want more wars, famine, and inequality?
A lot of lists would be controversial.
We need to restore balance between men and planet or get it moving in that
direction, and 200 could do it. Would it require drastic
actions from first-worlders that would be like suffering to them, lol?
The only reason we would suffer would be to leave the world a better place for our
descendants. (That mindset hasn't worked.) There's time to still live it up!
Wait, that's what got us here in the first place.
Good or bad or identifies as neither,
one of those lists will take a stand soon. My list? Doubtful. I'd rather have that luck
in the lottery, thanks. The takeover may not be as dramatic as the first-ever
$5B lottery drawing (ahem, powers-to-be) but that list will literally rule your world.
Gimme the cash payout and I'm G-O-N-E gone.
