Interlocked stacker rings 2-band to 5-band

Interlocked bangles and rings must be as old as bracelets and rings themselves.
The concept is that each band goes through all the others.
Rings are sometimes called rolling rings, rosettes, Russian wedding rings
(usually three bands), spinning band rings (not to
be confused with anxiety or spinner rings), gimmel or gimbal rings (usually two bands),
intertwined bands, Mobius to some, and probably a half-dozen other names.
My
interlocked bangles
and
interlocked rings
have a great variety in terms of the number of bands, the wire diameter, and size, all of which
can be customized to fit individual preferences.
Additionally, rosette units can be made into
earrings,
necklaces,
and
bracelets.
Sizing is a whole 'nother issue. A single ring fits one way.
Not so with two or more interlocked rings. How the bands are
positioned/layered drastically affects effective size. With five it is
up to two USA ring sizes! This super-cool feature allows one ring to fit many fingers
or be micro-adjusted for one. Shrinking and swelling fingers aren't as troublesome.
Few ring styles have such versatility.
In order to understand how the numbers fluctuate, I made every combination of ring bands
and wire diameters. Not every size of them - no sir, don't have the resources to make 1000+ rings - just
enough to get the formulas.
I wrote a program to calculate specifications and pricing for the countless
combinations of sizes, weights, metals, wire diameters, and bands.
Metal prices change daily so updated numbers must be ready with a mouse click.
Behold the power of a spreadsheet and VB code - no pen and paper required.
Silver is relatively inexpensive compared to platinum and gold so I
can charge a fixed price based on
wire diameter and number of bands up to USA 16 (larger sizes will cost more).
If someone wants a size 16 with five bands then too bad for me
but that's a rarity.
Those numbers become significant with gold and platinum because
they are worth thousands per ounce.
Material doubles from a USA size 0 to a USA size 16, no small chump change.
It gets more complicated as the bands and wire diameter increase....
Knowing how big each ring must be to finish at the effective ring size
is vital. At the extreme it is about 30% longer per band
for a 5-band in 2.0mm wire compared to a singular band.
Therefore, the most equitable way to price them
is by weight, which many manufacturers
do. Those who don't must overcharge on all sizes to ensure they don't lose money on any size.
That can be over $5,000 for the extreme outliers! You're grossly mistaken
if you think the manufacturer will eat that cost, so be cognizant of the pricing structure.
Bangles aren't as finicky as rings. Again,
silver wasn't a concern - same price in a given band/wire diameter combination.
It still warranted crunching numbers for gold and platinum,
which had enough variance to price them by weight.
I stock numerous silver interlocked stacker rings and bangles.
Gold and platinum have just enough examples to show them off - pictures and details are coming soon.
They will be made to order exactly as you desire without delay.
