I have a new page solely devoted to copper jewelry, sculptures, ornaments, and more. It's not just about using it in jewelry. For the most part, I can make anything out of copper that I make with other metals provided there isn't a huge structural or strength demand.

It is more versatile than most precious metals; luckily, it is less costly and more abundant. While palladium and platinum are stronger and more resistant to oxidation and other detrimental chemical processes, you won't find someone putting a platinum roof on their house. Still, the precious metals have many industrial uses that only they can fulfill.

Considered a living metal, it will forever change color until/if it reaches that coveted greenish-blue hue seen on fancy rooftops or evolves to a rich dark brownish-red. Unlike most of the precious metals, copper has numerous easily attained oxidation states and forms compounds far easier, giving rise to a huge color palette.

Legend has it that copper is great for arthritis and energy balancing. You can decide if the placebo effect applies here. Though it is one of the strongest anti-microbial and anti-viral natural substances, it ironically may cause skin irritations and/or stains for some. Therefore, functional jewelry may not be in everyone's cards if their body chemistry rejects it.

Where else does it excel? Until recently, silver was known as the most conductive metal/element. Single-crystal copper can exceed this, and apparently a small addition of copper to silver can even be higher. But not under normal circumstances - silver is still best. Copper is also second-best to silver when it comes to heat dissipation (diamond blows them both away, nearly 5x higher than silver!).

For me, copper is usually better for mocking up new designs. I won't feel so bad throwing it in the recycling bin if it doesn't work out. Most of the time, whatever I'm making can be a viable product in copper, so it's a bonus if it succeeds.

You can pick from flat cuffs, anticlastic cuffs, synclastic cuffs, kinetic ornaments, flowers, and origami designs. While not pictured, I do have earrings with copper bodies; they come with 0.999 silver earwires to ensure they are hypoallergenic, though nothing is stopping you from requesting copper ones. Again, there are so many possibilities not mentioned that it behooves you to inquire about it if you can imagine it.
