Why let a few words get in the way of expressing your stupidity, right? As the saying goes, "It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt!" Same goes for pen to paper or keyboard to cyberspace.

I have an item for sale. Lucky for you this isn't fakebook marketplace where describing an item is just as unintelligible to most sellers as quantum physics, and getting questions answered is like pulling teeth (basically any listing, but comparing one's mental wherewithal to this standard makes anyone feel like a genius). Descriptors matter.

Necklace. What is its value given the plethora of information I've provided already? 17" long. Just so you know if you're going to trip over it or get asphyxiated. For high-quality items, a longer chain should be more expensive though the opposite is true if not. So it matters here. Tremendously.

Handmade. While one would assume this automatically adds value, there is infinitely more poorly handmade stuff than not. It guarantees nothing, not even that it's handmade as most jewelers and chainmakers lie about it anyway. For my example it means something special.

Tapered and graduated. This could mean as few as two ring sizes because many people like to embellish their products with "generous" wording. It is neither in the spirit nor what someone expects. Mine uses 12 different ring sizes and 12 different wire diameters. There is no equivalent.

Precious metals. Again, sellers interpret this statement however they want. There are likely more fake "real silver" items in the marketplace than real ones. Mine are solid precious metals: certified, hallmarked, and guaranteed. Still, it's not over.

Precision construction. Doesn't every seller say their stuff is the best? Some of us - very few of us - actually are truthful. Far too many chains are so horrible as to be criminal. It is a notable exception to see one that gives me pause whereas I want my chains to cause a torpor from their incredible beauty and quality.

Welded or soldered. Critically important to its worthiness, it only matters if it is executed flawlessly, which is also a rarity. Welding is generally a meaningless buzzword since a poorly made welded item is still junk.

There are more aspects aside from fit, function, form, and fashion that are arguably more important: ethically sourced materials; no blood or conflict minerals; recycled and/or repurposed metals to limit habitat and environmental destruction from new mining; no slave, forced, child, or prison labor; made locally; adherence to all laws.

While everyone would agree these are fundamental to being a responsible manufacturer and consumer, few back up their words with actions. It's about price regardless of whether it is fake, misrepresented, fraudulent, or counterfeit. I've observed that less than 1% act on their convictions.

Sellers saturate their marketing tactics with lies, mistruths, and deception. Too bad these scheisters don't save their creativity for making worthy products instead of devising elaborate scams. I chose an honorable route and came up with this gem, and it's worth every penny.
