I marvel at the increasingly asinine warnings preceding every show these days. Oh, to relive the golden years when good ol' fashioned murder and nudity were the only worries. It's worse than food allergy warnings albeit without life-threatening consequences.

Warning: This show contains images of nature, life, trees, large open spaces, confined spaces, the number 13, plastic surgery, ugly people, hotties, fat people, anorexics, food, air, water, sport activities, high places, dark places, sunny days, bad weather, people laughing and crying, cats, dogs, animals doing tricks, athletes, sedentary losers, families, infants, toddlers, juveniles, tweens, adolescents, adults, senior citizens, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, grandparents, step-parents, in-laws, adopted children, surrogate children, Asians, Africans, Europeans, Native Americans, Australians, mixed-race people, married and divorced people, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, atheists, happiness, sadness, anger, motorcycles, bicycles, scooters, e-bikes, planes, trains, and automobiles. What about the other 10,000,000 things the average person observes on a typical errand?

It has become such a litigious society that you have to be warned that that fire is hot, electricity can shock, ice is slippery, drug overdoses can kill, smoking is bad, ultra-processed foods are detrimental to health, alcohol impairs driving, having sex may result in pregnancy, yadda blah whatever.

I don't feel out of place suggesting a warning about jewelry manufacturers who claim their items are handmade: "Beware! This seller lies through their teeth and breaks laws." Simply, handmade (a legally defined word, mind you) is a lie more than 99% of the time. No lie!

Beliefs should be tempered by facts, not vice versa!

There would also be warnings about their materials as the marketplace is swamped with fake metals, counterfeits, and illegally hallmarked items. Far too many bad players knowingly defraud people this way. Though slightly less prevalent than the handmade lie, it is a more significant problem. Simply, I'd rather have a non-handmade "handmade" item that was otherwise legit compared to worthless metal that was supposed to be a real precious metal.

Not to downplay the first two swindles, some attempt a hat trick with even more ridiculous lies: how they value quality and how awesome their products are. Science and math prove quality with numbers, which don't lie. No debate, no argument, no room for subjective opinions but these people subvert reality yet again.

Naturally, people will neither accept nor admit their products are anything but perfect regardless of what the numbers say. Ethical issues aside, it is delusional and highlights a serious cognitive defect to deny or gaslight indisputable facts. Beliefs should be tempered by facts, not vice versa! This type of seller shouldn't be encouraged or supported. No one's going to hold them accountable but at least I'm gonna call them out!

There's a way to shield yourself. Talk to me. In seconds you'll easily identify these miscreants and their pathetic shenanigans. Unless you want to get scammed, which (sadly) most choose since a "good price" overrides quality, truth, authenticity, and legitimacy. Is any price a good price when you're getting ripped off?! To which I say, I didn't realize being an enthusiastic, consenting, and willing victim - and gladly paying for the "privilege" - was on anyone's bucket list. But gotta impress their friends and complete strangers alike. However, embracing stupidity is never impressive.
