OK, let's clarify the facts, which are horrifying enough to make anyone reconsider their purchase of a natural stone. The gemstone industry has been evil for a very long time. Conflict gemstones were only the beginning. Artificially colored stones are another negative mark. Price manipulation and fictitious scarcity BS have been going on forever thanks to the monopoly DeBeers has had. Finding a positive impact is impossible.

Lab-grown will not negatively affect your health or well-being. No people, habitats, or the environment are harmed while consuming copious amounts of natural resources like traditional mining. You are not infringing on intellectual or property rights. It's not a fake product.

Why bother with real? Lab-created gemstones are SOOO much better than their natural counterparts in every aspect. They pass every test because they are real! The only tipoff they may be synthetic is they are too perfect, a stigma if you believe the negative marketing hype. There is no downside.

It reminds me of a manufacturer that lauded about CNC precision and perfection. Looking at his ugly jewelry chains with pinch-cut rings and flaws galore...why was he mentioning precision at all? He was proud of his work because, in his own words, you could tell it was made by a person. Wrong! Make it so well that one would think a machine made it.

Why let nature birth it with flaws and inclusions when perfection is less costly?

Same with gemstones. Why let nature birth them with flaws and inclusions when perfection is less costly? They're less prone to cracking and breaking which is a huge bonus for complicated jewelry (tension settings particularly). I've set natural and synthetic and the latter is better in any application.

In the end, who's gonna know anyway? You can get any size, any color, any preference, any level of perfection, any shape. Never mind the outdated five Cs, these are the modern five As! Then again, we are dealing with ego, pride, bragging rights, and "what will other people think" misguided purists. I understand the appeal of natural but not this. It's not like the stone has been faked out with plastic surgery, which always ruins natural beauty.

Be doubtful of greenwashing hype about real gemstones and their non-conflict origin story. Anything involving large sums of money or prestige should be questioned when those tasked with divulging the truth are the ones who benefit from lying about it. There's too much money at stake for honesty to control the narrative. It's like dolphin-friendly tuna...does it even exist? Ask VW about their ultra-clean emissions, or Volvo about reinforcing their cars for commercials.

Simply, are you certain your purchases aren't feeding the worst human behaviors: slavery, child labor, environmental destruction, criminal enterprises, foreign warlords? Getting proof of "conflict-free" origins is paramount since their promises and guarantees are likely fraud-washing at best.

Synthetic gemstones are far more environmentally friendly, socially responsible, culturally indifferent, affordable, and fair trade compared to supporting the legacy gemstone industry, one of the longest running scams in modern times. The justification for natural gemstones is dubious and illogical but a girl's best friend won't go down without a fight.
